Day 1 :  Lao cai – Sapa – Hau Thao – Ta Van ( Overnight at the village )

Day 2:  Ta Van – Lao Chai – YLinhHo – Sapa – Lao Cai ( Overnight at the train )

Day 1: Sapa – Hau Thao – Ta van (-/ L/ D)

We leave Sa pa by foot towards Lao Cai. After following the road for approx. 1,5 km we start ascending into the mountains. We trek to Sa Seng village, where we are able to see how the Black Hmong people color their fabric. We pass through Sa Seng and head for Hao Thau village, where the guide will prepare a delicious lunch in a local house. After lunch it is possible to visit the Catholic Church and experience the daily life of the Black Hmong minority in the village.

After exploring the Black Hmong village we continue towards the SaPa Valley and the Zay village of Tavan. From Hau Thao to Tavan we have a 3 hours walk, but mostly downhill. After spending the morning on the mountain above the SaPa Valley, we are now in the middle of it. The rice paddies in this area are amazing.

In Tavan we stay overnight in a local house, where we also enjoy our dinner.

Day 2 Ta Van – Lao Chai – YLinhHo – Sapa – Lao Cai (B/ L/ -)

Today we have a 6 hours walk before we reach SaPa. After enjoying our breakfast we hit the trail and after 11/2 hour we reach the village of Lao Chai, which is inhabited by the Black Hmong minority.

We are still in the SaPa Valley, the surroundings are fantastic, and we are in the middle of it all.

The Black Hmong village of Y Linh Ho is the destination for our lunch. We find a local house, in where we have lunch, and enjoy the views and the atmosphere while our cook is preparing the lunch.

We now only have a 1 hour walk before we reach SaPa where a cold drink and a hot shower is waiting.

In the afternoon, take bus to get to Laocai Station for dinner anf after that catch the night train back to Hanoi. Overnight on the train
