Day 1. Sapa – Heaven Gate – Binh Lu – Tam Duong, 73 km and sometimes by jeep (L, D)

Started from Sapa by cycling about 16 kilometers uphill to the Vietnam highest pass at 2000 meters above sea level. where you see beautiful Silver Waterfall and Tram Ton heaven gate then it is downhill for around 26 kilometers on the road described as the most beautiful one in Vietnam with breathtaking scenery all the way to Binh Lu. In the late afternoon you will arrive in Tam Duong, where you will stay overnight in a comfortable local guesthouse

Day 2. Tam Duong – Phong Tho – Binh Lu ?Sapa, 55 km, sometimes by jeep (B, L)

The next morning, you can explore the market in Tam Duong, before starting on your journey back towards Binh Lu. There is almost no traffic and you will cycle through small villages and meet different ethnic minorities. Your jeep will be waiting for you in Tam Duong to take you back to Sapa. Back to Sapa in the late afternoon.

Sapa – Easy trekking 2 Nights 1 Day

Lao Chai village: Located 7 Kms from Sapa, it is quite approachable from Sapa for a travllers who do not have much time. In this village which you will have a welcome feeling at any house of the hospitable people there. You can interact them, learn about their culture and customs. Ta Van is located in the northern province of Lao Cai, about 5 kilometres fromsapa at an altitude of 1, 816 meters. This province borders the province of Yunnan in south-west China, and the indigenous people here share many cultural features with their Chinese neighbours.

Detailed Ititnerary

Day 1: Lao Cai – Sa Pa – Cat Cat ( B,L,D)

06am: Our guide meets you at the Lao Cai train station, and you depart for Sa Pa by minibus. Arriving in Sa Pa mid-morning, you check in to the hotel, have breakfast and short rest.

02pm: After lunch, our guide takes you to visit two Black H’mong villages (Cat Cat Village) and a waterfall. There, you will have a chance to see the hydroelectric power station built by the French. After that, it’s back to Sa Pa for dinner. In the evening, you’re free to do as you wish. You can explore the town of Sa Pa. Overnight in hotel.

Day 2: Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van – Hanoi (B,L,D)

09am: After breakfast, our guide takes you to villages populated by H’mong and Dzay peoples, respectively called Lao Chai and Ta Van.

You’ll have lunch either with an ethnic minority family. After that come back to Sapa Luxury Hotel in the Sapa for shower. On the way back to Lao Cai to catch a night train back to Ha Noi, arriving the next early morning.

Detailed Itinerary

Night 1:  Ha Noi – Lao Cai . Overnight on Train

Sapa village travel’s car pick you up from your hotel to Hanoi Railway Station for the night train, soft sleeper with AC at 20.30pm to go to Lao Cai station.Overnight on the train.

Day 1:  Lao Cai – Sa Pa – Cat Cat Village (B, L, D)

Arrive at Lao Cai Train station at about 6.30. Take a transfer to Sapa. Having breakfast and relax before explore Sapa Town. In the afternoon, take a 2km short trekking to Cat Cat Village, the home of H’mong Ethnic. Meeting & talking with locals to learn more about their daily life. Overnight in hotel.

Day 2: Sapa – Lao Cai (B, L, D)

Today, you can choose one of the following options to visit the local villages:

Option 1: Pleasant drive to Taphin village (12km from Sapa) of Red Dzao ethnic. Touring to the village to visit Tafin handicraft shop and explore the daily life of Red Dzao. Here you have a good choices to buy woven and textile brocades, which is made by ethic people. Visit Taphin Cave and small hamlet of Black H’mong people. Return to Sapa and take a transfer to Lao Cai station for night train to Hanoi.

Option 2: Take the foot path up and down and crossing a small hamlet of Matra, where inhabited by Black H’mong ethic. Continue trekking up the village and getting through paddies fields will lead you to an ancient Catholic abbey, built by French colonists. Walk 2 km more to reach Taphin handicraft shop and explore the daily life of Red Dzao. Here you have a good choices to buy woven and textile brocades, which is made by ethic people. Visit TaPhin Cave and small hamlet of Black H’mong people. Return to Sapa & take a transfer to Lao Cai station for night train to Hanoi.

Night 3: Overnight at an AC 4 berth soft sleeper train to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi early morning, please take a taxi to your hotel. Getting back to Hanoi from Sapa trip so early at around 5am. Taxi to your hotel. Tour End

Day 1: LaoCai station – Sapa – CatCat – SinChai – Sapa (B, L, D)

Pick-up at LaoCai Railway station early in the morning by minivan. Arrival to Sapa around 8:00 am. Check in sapa luxury hotel & breakfast. The trek usually starts at 9:30 am – this is a 12 km trek to visit CatCat and SinChai villages of the Black H’mong hill-tribal people. Picnic lunch and refreshing at the Cat Cat waterfall, then continuing walking to Sin Chai village, enjoying spectacular views during the entire trip. From Sin Chai is possible to return to sapa by foot, walking uphill, or to return by car from the hotel. The trek ends roughly at 4:00 pm. Overnight in sapa luxury  hotel. (4-6 hours trekking, 6-12 km (depends if the way back by foot or by car, 2 villages)

Day 2 : Sapa – Giang Ta Chai – Sapa (7hours trekking, 17 km, 3 villages) (B, L, D)

After breakfast at the hotel, the trek is starts from Sapa, walking down hill along Muong Hoa Valley, enjoy the breathtaking views and visiting 2 villages, home to Black H’mong and Dzay hill-tribal people. Picnic lunch on the way or in a village with a local family. After lunch continuing through suspension bridge, bamboo forest and waterfalls to GiangTaChai village, a home to Red Dzao people. Pick-up from the main road by car back to Sapa. Overnight in sapa luxury  hotel. (7hours trekking, 17 km, 3 villages)

Bac Ha – Sunday market

Start point – Sapa or Lao Cai city

This is the largest market in the region, a place where many hill tribal people gather to meet each other, to buy and sell, to eat and drink. There are 10 minority groups in the Bac Ha region. You can buy there homemade handicrafts and clothes. In the afternoon we will have a short hike to Ban Pho village of Flower H’Mong people. Transfer back to Lao Cai for the night train to Hanoi, or back to Sapa.

Muong Khuong – Sunday Market

Start point – Sapa or Lao Cai city

While most of the tourists go to visit Bac Ha market, you can choose more quite local market surrounded by breathtaking nature in Muong Khuong. The tour includes visit to a market and an easy trek for about 2.5 hours through spectacular green mountainous scenery, corn and rice fields and remote villages of Flower H’mong ethnic people. At the end of the trip we will drive back to Lao Cai city and stop near by Chinese border to take a look on Chinese town across the river. The tour ends at Lao Cai Railway Station.

Can Cau – Saturday market

Start point – Sapa or Lao Cai city

This is a colorful market situated in a small village in the mountains. You will see several different hill tribe groups here, but mainly the Flower H’mong. The local people come here to socialize, to buy and sell clothes, vegetables, meat and cattle. In the afternoon we will have a short hike to Ban Pho village of Flower H’Mong. Transfer back to Lao Cai for the night train to Hanoi, or back to Sapa.

Lung Khau – Thursday market

Start point – Sapa or Lao Cai city

We will start our trip early in the morning, passing Lao Cai and continuing to north-east direction. This is a small but very colorful market in a remote mountainous area where mainly Flower H’mong gather to exchange their homemade products. You do not see many tourist at this market. After visiting the market, we will walk to the village of hill tribal people to discover their way of living and to enjoy walking in the nature. Then we will drive back to Lao Cai. The trip ends at Lao Cai train station.

Tam Duong – Thursday Market

Start point – Sapa

We will start the trip early at morning in Sapa driving about 2 hours by car, enjoying amazing mountainous scenery, to Lai Chau province to discover the colorful market of many hill tribes such as: Lu, Lao, Black Dzao, Tien Dzao, Red Hmong, Dzay, Black Thai. In the afternoon we’ll visit the Ban Hon Village, home to Lu & Thai minorities. On this is a good opportunity to take pictures of majestic Fansipan mountain, passing the Heaven Gate, Tram Ton Pass & Silver Waterfall on the way back to Sapa

On Saturday morning you will be picked up at LaoCai Railway Station and start a trip to CanCau market.

It takes more than 2 hours to get to the market that situated in a valley surrounded by mountains, 7 km from Chinese border. The market represents the typical cultural features of the ethnic minority groups in remote mountainous areas in north-west Vietnam. Further more, you can enjoy seeing ethnic people well-dresses in colorful costumes and their socializing with each other during the market day. They attend the market not only to buy and to sell things, but also come with a hope of finding “the other halves of their lives”. After enjoying the market we will drive to BacHa town. On the way we will visit a village of Flower H’mong ethnic people and then check-in in hotel in BacHa. You will have a free evening to explore the town.

Day 2 (Sunday) : Visit to BacHa market – Sapa (B,L)

After breakfast we will walk to BacHa market. This is the largest market in the region, a place where many hill tribal people gather to meet each other, to buy and sell, to eat and drink. There are 10 minority groups in the Bac Ha region. You can buy here homemade handicrafts and clothes or to enjoy unique local food or special wines made from rice, cassavas, corn and different sorts of fruits such as plumps, apples and peaches. After the market we will visit one village of Flower H’mong people and an old building called the H’mong King’s house built by the French colonists and the Chinese in 1920. Then we’ll return to the town for lunch. In the afternoon, we will spend some time to visit another village (Ban Pho village). Then we have to say good bye to BacHa and drive to Sapa. On the way back, we will stop in Lao Cai to see Chinese border and Chinese town on the other side of the river. We will reach Sapa late in the afternoon and check in sapa l hotel.

Day 3 : Sapa discovery – Lao Chai – Tavan (4 hours trekking, 12 km, 2 villages) – Lao Cai Railway Station (B,L)

After breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for an unforgettable trek that will take us along the beautiful Muong Hoa valley, through paddy rice terraces, buffalo paths, local small trails and hill tribe villages of Lao Chai and Tavan. Each village is inhibited by different ethnic minority group. Lao Chai is home to Black H’mong hill-tribal people, in Tavan live Dzay ethnic group. This is a spectacular walk through stunning scenery of the surrounding mountains, rice fields and small scattered villages, inhabited by friendly hill tribe people that will always warmly welcome you. At the end of the trip, we will return to Sapa by car. You will have few hours to enjoy Sapa, before going to Lao Cai Railway Station and catching the night train to Hanoi.
